Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026 · Version 2.0

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Reassure web application (the “Service”) operated by Reassure (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

1. Description of the Service

Reassure is a nonprofit tool that helps users review medical bills against insurance policy terms. The Service allows you to upload medical bill PDFs and insurance policy PDFs, performs an automated comparison of billing codes and charges against your policy coverage, identifies potential discrepancies, and generates draft appeal letters you can use when communicating with your provider or insurer.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of another individual, you represent that you have the authority to agree to these Terms on their behalf.

3. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, browsing, or using the Service in any way, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time as described in Section 13.

4. Account and Session Usage

The Service uses browser-based session identifiers to associate your uploads and analysis results with your browsing session. You do not need to create a formal account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your session and for all activity that occurs during your session. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized use of your session.

5. Permitted Use and Restrictions

You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose and in compliance with all applicable laws. You may not:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or malicious purpose.
  • Upload documents that you do not own or do not have authorization to share.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code of the Service beyond what is publicly available.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or place an undue burden on the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or crawlers to access the Service without our prior written consent.
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit any part of the Service or its outputs without our prior written consent.
  • Upload content that contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code.

6. User-Uploaded Content

You retain full ownership of all documents and data you upload to the Service (“User Content”). By uploading User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to process, analyze, and store your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not claim any ownership interest in your User Content. We will not use your User Content for any purpose other than operating and improving the Service as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, user interface, graphics, trademarks, and all other intellectual property, is owned by Reassure and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right, title, or interest in the Service beyond the limited right to use it in accordance with these Terms. Generated outputs such as findings reports and appeal letter drafts are provided for your personal use and are based on your User Content.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

The Service does not constitute legal advice, medical advice, insurance adjudication, or professional billing consultation. Findings and generated letters are informational drafts intended to assist you in reviewing your medical bills and communicating with your provider or insurer. They should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional advice. We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any analysis or output. We do not guarantee any specific reimbursement outcome, claim resolution, or financial result.

Always consult a qualified professional — such as a licensed attorney, medical billing advocate, or insurance representative — for decisions related to legal, medical, or insurance disputes.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Reassure and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service, regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise), even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us, if any, during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Reassure and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any rights of a third party; or (d) any actions taken by your provider or insurer in response to materials generated by the Service.

11. Termination and Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to Sections 8, 9, 10, and 12.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within thirty (30) days, either party may pursue resolution through binding arbitration or in a court of competent jurisdiction.

13. Modifications to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by posting the updated version on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you must stop using the Service.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its original intent.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Reassure regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications, whether written or oral.
